Trouble with Technology

I've tried to post a few times in the last month - and both times the computer has freaked out and sent my post to some huge cyber-space black hole.... people on Mars are probably enjoying the updates in our family. And no, I don't want to hear about how the computer is only as smart as the operator - that can't be true in this case! This machine definitely has a mind of its own.
So... maybe three times is the charm - we'll see!

The spring weather is really in full swing - this is one of the lilacs from our front tree/bush. The daffodils have come and gone, along with the tulips - we'll be planting the flowers for the summer in another week or so. I really love this time of year.

We spent the better part of last weekend doing house/yard stuff... we decided that the shutters were in need of a new coat of paint and holy cow, I had no idea how involved that project would be! Most of Saturday was spent removing, cleaning, painting and re-attaching them. They really look great but had I known how much work it was going to be, I might have decided that the faded out/dingy shutters really weren't so bad! Oh well - hopefully this paint lasts for a while.

Emily is her same old self -- looking forward to the end of first grade and the start of summer vacation. We don't have a lot of plans for the summer but she'll continue dancing and has a National competition in July. I finally uploaded some of the pictures from her competition in March...
She's growing up so fast - it's crazy. She's a really funny kid and keeps us on our toes. She's also finally really mastered front flips on the trampoline, including a firm landing on her feet -- it's still pretty new for her, so she always has a huge grin when she's out there. I honestly can't believe that she's headed for 2nd grade...

Easter has also come and gone - it was quiet at our house, but the bunny left some treats for Em and since she's been a really good help around the house, her big surprise was a new bike! It's much bigger than her old bike, but she'll get used to it! We also decorated some eggs like we do every year.
Well... keep your fingers crossed - I'll push the Publish button and we'll see what happens... if it works this time I'll be less tempted to heave this computer over the edge of the atrium to its death!

Catch ya' next time!
