Catch Up

...and I don't mean the condiment. It has been quite some time since anyone updated this blog-what about 4 months now.
Anyway, I will throw some pictures in on this blog and update a previous blog with some pictures as we have finally downloaded them from the camera. A lot has happened over the past few months, but when you look back, it all seems like the same old stuff.

We had a great Autumn season with very nice weather and lots of fun activities. Emily started losing teeth like crazy and it looks as though braces will be in order. Softball went pretty well. Emily did a great job batting. Her fielding skills will get better as she continues to play, which I think will be a steading Fall activity for her, unless Soccer becomes a sport where running is not a requisite--Emily's least favorite part of softball.

Christmas brought lots of family in from out of town. Jen's dad, sister and her husband and her brother were all with us for Christmas. Christmas is just better when you have to wait for people to get out of the bathroom, take two cars wherever you go, ask the opinion of 10 people where they want to go for dinner and figure out where everyone is going to sit as you open Christmas presents. Despite all of this, we were very happy that everyone could come out and see us. Seriously, we know that international travel takes its toll both physically and financially and we are grateful for it.
Although there were many presents given and received, I think that Emily enjoyed one present from Santa more than anything else. Santa brought crutches. NO KIDDING. Number one on Emily's Christmas list was crutches, well except for the laptop-yeah right!! She didn't put those darn things down for hours and you wouldn't think that they would be so annoying, but the constant thud across the wood floors, does get bothersome.

We didn't have any snow for Christmas, but as you can see, we finally got a little snow. I say that if it is going to snow, that we should get a few feet. No sense in dealing with this little 3-4 inches of snow. I want to have to dig out of my house just to get to the street, eventhough that would shut down a city like Columbus, mainly because even when there is only a trace amount of percipitation on the roads, no one seems to remember how to drive any longer. But I wouldn't care because I'd be digging out of my house. Since this was the first snowfall of the season, Emily proceeded to play outside in it for about 4 hours. Yes, we are terrible parents, but figured that she is old enough to come in and tell us when she gets cold. No long term effects so far.

Dance is in full swing. First competition is this weekend coming up, so I'm sure there will be more pics here shortly on that. Emily is expressing interest in trying some new or activities that she has done in a while. So far the list includes gymnastics, cooking classes and trying swimming or piano lessons again. Guess I should look at getting another job to handle the load.

This just about catches everyone up for the past little while. Hope all of our friends and family are well. In parting, I would like to leave you with some words of the great Governor of California, trying his hand at acting, "I'll be back".
