What's up?

Time really seems to speed up as you get older... you spend so much time while you're young wishing that you were older - then when you finally get to "older", you wish you could go back. I can't believe that it's been so long since we posted - that's terrible!

Things haven't changed too much - Emily finished up 2nd grade and is eagerly looking forward to being a 3rd grader -- that's one rung below top dog at her school. She is still dancing like a crazy girl and had a recital for friends and family in June - she was in 4 numbers -- the most she's ever done, and she did a great job.

She and I left the day after her recital to go and visit my family in British Columbia (west coast of Canada) -- it was a long trip to actually get there, involving cars, a plane and a ferry boat but it was a fantastic trip! Vancouver Island is beautiful and it was so great to spend some time with my mom and step-dad. My sister and her husband also flew in as a surprise for the weekend so it was a great reunion. The weather was a bit on the chilly side and we weren't particularly prepared for that, but we survived! Em had a great time on the many beaches searching for ocean treasures - and she was quite successful. I also got to reconnect with an old friend from high school and we had a fun day together with her 2 kids.

We're spending the summer at the pool and driving between dance classes and gym classes but for the most part it should be pretty relaxing. We have lots of family coming to visit and we're excited to see everyone!!
