It's been a long time coming...

Ok, after some gentle (and some not-so-gentle) reminders that we've totally neglected our blog, I thought it was time to get updated --
So... quite a bit has happened in the last 10-ish months... Emily is anxious to finish up the third grade - less than a month to go now. She's had a great year - loves her teacher and has learned a lot of new things along with being challenged in some areas that were new for her but she's really looking forward to summer vacation! Em continues to dance but has decided to take a break this summer and give gymnastics another try - we will finish up this dance year with a national dance competition in Tennessee in late June -- the first time that we're really had to travel anywhere for dance. It will be a fun trip. We plan to spend as much time as possible at the pool again this summer -- at the end of last summer Emily finally got up enough courage to jump off the diving board and she's anxious to get back to refining her swimming skills! Em has also been taking piano lessons -- practicing isn't always without complaints but she's making great progress. We're looking forward to a little recital or performance of some kind during the summer.
Chris and I are also planning some summer activities -- we're heading to Hawaii in late June/early July for a week of relaxation! We've talked for years about going and we finally saved up some money and booked it! Emily will be staying home with Grandma and we're excited -- we've never had a vacation alone!
Nothing really new to report for me -- but Chris headed back to graduate school in the fall, so he's working along in his MBA -- he'll be done in June 2009 and while it's really not too far away, it seems like it will never end. He's working hard and keeping busy with yard work and home projects - it really is never-ending!
