Dance Update: Emily's first dance competition was February 11-12. We packed enough supplies to sustain a small village for about a month and headed off to Vet's Memorial (auditorium where this competition was held) in time to catch the first dancer from her school (7:30 a.m.) The rule at Emily's studio is that you have to be present for every dance with dancers from the school... yippee... so although Em didn't actually dance until 1:30 p.m., we were sitting there ALL MORNING. Luckily there was a big enough break mid-morning that we went home to eat and actually get the girl ready.
So, this is what she looked like just before we headed back to action:

Emily was nervous, but her group did a great job... they were the only ones competing in their age group for tap, so great news... they won 1st place! We are very proud of her -- she dances very well and keeps up with the other girls who have been competing for several seasons.
Here is what she looks like in full costume:

Everything else continues on much the same as usual -- I took yesterday off to spend with Emily because she had the day off for President's Day. We went shopping and ice skating and out for lunch - it was a regular "girls day out". Lots of fun. Hopefully it won't take so long to get the next post up.
